Privacy Policy

CardPrice (“we”, “us”) provides Pokémon card price tracking and collection management at cardprice.com and through the CardPrice mobile app. This policy explains what we collect and why. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the product, we don’t sell your data, and you can delete everything yourself at any time.
What we collect
- Account data. Your email address and a salted hash of your password (we never store the password itself). Optionally, a public handle, display name, and bio if you create a showcase profile.
- Collection data. The cards and products you add: names, quantities, grades, values, and portfolio names. This syncs to our servers only when you create an account; without one it stays on your device/browser.
- Photos you scan. Card photos taken in the app are processed to identify the card. They stay on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
- Technical basics. Standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) kept briefly for security and debugging.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
- We don’t show third-party ads or use advertising trackers.
- We don’t read your collection for any purpose other than showing it to you (and to people you explicitly share a showcase link with).
How your data is used
- To sync your collection across devices and back it up.
- To send transactional email: password resets, email verification, and — if you opt in — a weekly portfolio digest and price alerts. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link.
- To show a public showcase page only if you turn one on. It exposes card names, images, and values — never your email.
Sharing
We use a small number of processors to run the service: hosting infrastructure and an email delivery provider (Resend) for the messages described above. Pricing data comes from third-party market sources; nothing about you is sent to them. Some outbound links (e.g. eBay, TCGplayer) are affiliate links — the destination knows you clicked from CardPrice, nothing more.
Retention & deletion
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account — including your synced collection, showcase, and tokens — from the account page on the web or in the app’s account screen. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Backups age out within 30 days.
Children
CardPrice is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
