Looking at sets instead of singles
Chasing individual chase cards can miss the bigger picture. Looking at a set's median card — the one right in the middle of the pack, not the headline chase pull — shows whether demand is broad-based or just a few cards pulling the average around. Here's how Pokémon sets stack up over the past 30 days.
Where the strength is
Two Japanese releases lead the pack. Secret of the Lakes (Japanese) posts a median 30-day change of 15.3% across 44 cards tracked, with Offense and Defense of the Furthest Ends (Japanese) close behind at 14.8% across 42 cards. Both are recent-enough releases where a strong median across 40+ tracked cards suggests real, broad demand rather than one or two cards skewing things.
Older English-language sets are holding their own too. Jungle (10.5% median, 32 cards) and Dragon (10% median, 35 cards) are both decades-old pools, so a double-digit median move across dozens of cards is notable — this isn't a thin sample getting pushed around by a single sale. Rocket Gang (Japanese) sits at 9.9% on 24 cards, and Flight of Legends (Japanese) comes in at 9.6% on 46 cards, one of the larger samples in this group.
Rounding out the gainers, Legendary Collection (8.8% median, 43 cards) and Call of Legends (8.7% median, 50 cards) both show healthy, broad momentum — Call of Legends has the largest tracked count of any set in this report, at 50 cards, which adds some weight to that number.
| Set | Cards tracked | Median 30d change |

| Dragon | 35 | +10% |
| Rocket Gang (Japanese) | 24 | +9.9% |
| Flight of Legends (Japanese) | 46 | +9.6% |

| Call of Legends | 50 | +8.7% |
Where the weakness is
The other side of the ledger is led by 30th Celebration, down a median 50% across 23 cards tracked — by far the steepest drop here. A move that large across the whole tracked pool, not just one card, points to a genuine reset in how the set is being valued rather than noise from thin trading.
Team Rocket and Base, two classic early sets, both show heavy median declines: -32.2% on 40 cards for Team Rocket and -32% on 33 cards for Base. These are long-established sets with deep tracked pools, so seeing medians fall this far is a meaningful signal of softening demand across the board, not just in a couple of outlier cards.
Ascended Heroes (-18.1% median, 43 cards) and Neo Revelation (-16.2% median, 33 cards) show smaller but still sizable pullbacks. Destined Rivals, a more modern set, sits at -13.1% median across 33 cards. High Class Pack: MEGA Dream ex (Japanese) is down 12.6% on 25 cards, and Delta Species closes out the list at -9.9% median across 54 cards — the largest sample among the decliners.

Reading the gap
The spread here is wide. The strongest set's median move (15.3%) and the weakest (-50%) sit on opposite ends of a wide range, and both lists lean on decent sample sizes — mostly 20 to 50 tracked cards per set — so these aren't single-card flukes. Older sets like Base, Jungle, and Dragon showing up on both sides of the list is a reminder that vintage doesn't move as one block; individual sets within a generation can diverge sharply.
As always with 30-day windows, a single big set-wide move can reflect a short-term shift in grading submissions, supply, or sentiment as much as a lasting change in demand. Worth tracking over the next few updates to see which of these moves hold.
